Lightning Over Manchester
I took this from Curbar Edge in Derbyshire, overlooking the villages of Curbar and Calver, looking West towards Manchester (which is probably where the lightning was striking).
If you look carefully at the centre of the picture, you can see steam rising from the wet woodland, heavy rain had stopped and the temperature was rising, causing loads of steam.
Got bit to death with midges too.

Lianne and Kelsey atop the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse, Daytona Beach, Florida
The steps up to the viewing area were a killer but the views were worth the effort.........
Lianne (in the sunglasses) and Kelsey pose at the top (what a struggle Kelsey had to get here)
The Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse is well worth a visit.

Heath Rips the Piss

Hey!, did I backup my pictures???....................NAH!
Heath rips the piss out of me for not backing up my important files, laptop crash caused me to lose most of my pictures.....................................must say what a great guy Heath is though, really enjoyed our Airboat outing (apart from Kev trying to sink us)
You are a terrific guy Heath and have a great family too, looking forward to 2011, when we can do it all again (only more beers this time) and a night ride to get the BRIT BIT!

My Great Buddy and Holiday Host
Kev looking a little red after a fantastic day fishing at Fort De Soto pier, we had just driven to the Old Sunshine Skyway Bridge (now a fishing pier) for a spot more fishing.
The wind had been blowing all day at around 30mph, so Kev was showing off a little 'Chapping' around the face.
A great and enjoyable day.

My real good friend Dai

A real good guy I met at www.soccermanager.com and owner of the finest B&B in Portrush N.Ireland, and an annoyingly handsome chap as well.
Oh and he is a Patriotic Welshman, so be warned (LOL)

Edale April 2008
Wet and cloudy weekend at Edale, although we did get to see Saturn for about 20 mins, so not a dead loss altogether and the scenery is lovely.
Here we have the gang..........from left to right
Me, Pete, Dave, Graham (The Boss), Georgina and Steve, along with 2 SkyWatcher Telescopes (in the foreground) and Dave's Orion at the back.

Orion Nebula

First attempt at Orion Nebula with my Digital SLR (Canon EOS 350D)
I lost a bit of colour in the processing but hopefully I will improve.
Pic info is 14 x 30 sec images in RAW format, stacked using DeepSkyStacker (which is FREE) then processed using Adobe Photoshop.
Taken through Graham Jenkinson's home built 12" Reflector Telescope.
If you need a free stacking program for Planetary Images then RegiStax is the one for you.
Astrocamp
This is the campsite in Edale where we go for our weekend astrocamps, supposedly to study the skies and take pictures, although it seems to be a sort of 'Jolly Boys Outing' with lots of alcohol being consumed and much idiocy occurring.................................................................but we LOVE it!
Edale is a beautiful part of Derbyshire as can be seen in these pictures.

Poolsbrook Country Park
Poolsbrook Country Park was built on the site of Ireland Colliery, a Coal Mine where I used to work.
This was taken from the top of a viewing hill, which is accessible from the Trans Pennine Trail and looks back towards Staveley Town and where I live.
The Devils Arse
Seriously, this cave is called The Devils Arse......or Peak Cavern and is in Castleton in the Derbyshire Peak District.
Castleton is a great place to visit, apart from Peak Cavern, there is Treak Cliff Cavern, Speedwell Cavern, Blue John Mine and Peveril Castle to visit, also Winnats Pass and Mam Tor where you can watch the Hang Gliders.
All the info on Castleton can be found Here
